Another major advantage of Motorboss is that, by eliminating wasted energy, motors will run significantly cooler and quieter. The thermal photograph below illustrates a row of motors driving cooling tower fans. A Motorboss unit is connected to the second motor in line and is operating significantly cooler than the others: <50°C compared with >70°C.

The benefits of cooler operating temperatures and quieter operation are obvious, not only in terms of motor life, but also in terms of reduced maintenance and plant downtime which can be extremely expensive from a production point of view.

The U.S. Department of Energy has estimated that a 10°C drop in temperature will double a motor’s life. Additionally, in an enclosed environment, reducing the operating temperature of a number of motors can substantially reduce the load on the facility’s air-conditioning system.
