Quarterly electricity tariff rates are expected to increase on December 1, 2009 for Type II accounts in all Maryland service territories. Most business consumers in BGE, PEPCO, Delmarva Power and Allegheny Power will see increases of 15% to 22% if they take electricity supply service from their utility.

Fortunately, competitive electric supplier prices are below the utility tariffs. Maryland customers now have the opportunity to reduce costs with competitive supply.
