Energy Efficiency Planning

Their are at least 4 reasons why it’s difficult to develop an effective energy efficiency plan - which we call an Energy Road Map - without some outside help:

§  Operational Requirements - The demands and complexity of day-to-day operations – getting products out the door – will always tend to override cost-saving considerations.

§  The ‘Knowledge Gap’ - In most companies there is a knowledge gap between technical/facilities managers who understand the energy needs for plant operations, and financial managers who are charged with negotiating with energy suppliers.

§  Engineering Expertise - Few firms have either the breadth of engineering know-how in-house - mechanical, electrical and analytical - or detailed knowledge of the latest energy-efficiency technologies.

§  Fresh Eyes - Because your staff are so used to seeing things in a particular light, they don’t notice gradual depreciation in equipment performance. Applied Energy has “fresh eyes” to help you identify and prioritize those energy-consuming systems with the greatest potential savings and/or the fastest paybacks.

Developing an Energy Road Map doesn’t need to be a complicated, expensive or long-drawn-out process.  3 components are needed

§  A broad-brushstroke framework for thinking about energy sources and uses.

§  An understanding of how you are charged for energy, especially in terms of power bills, which are notoriously opaque and user-unfriendly.

§  An analysis of where your major uses of energy occur, and potential savings using various products and technologies.

Applied Energy can help you develop an overall plan for your company that identifies, costs and prioritizes your energy options for the short-term, and takes steps to minimize price increases in the longer-term.

Vendor Neutral - Our focus is entirely on improving the energy efficiency of your equipment, without affecting output – either quality or quantity.  Because we are  ‘vendor neutral’ and ‘technology neutral’, we can maintain our objectivity regarding the best equipment for any particular purpose, and the cost-effectiveness of upgrading/replacing equipment to achieve greater energy efficiency.

New Technologies - We continually research and test new technologies to deliver greater operational efficiencies and energy savings to provide longer equipment life and better performance. We take pride in bringing to your attention new technologies that you may not have heard about yet.

Because we don’t sell HVAC, pumps, boiler equipment or air compressors, we are able to maintain our objectivity regarding the best equipment of any particular purpose, and the wisdom of upgrading/replacing equipment to achieve greater energy efficiency.
