Continuous Energy Management

CEMS Overview

Our CEMS – Continuous Energy Management System - is an outsourced energy management service that continuously collects data, analyzes it and presents it intelligently to decision-makers in management, operations, facilities, finance and procurement.

Most companies have access to at least some level of information about energy use in their facilities and processes. This information may come from a variety of sources including “interval data” from the main meter or sub-meters, or from a Building Management System, or from process controls.

Some systems are new, some are older, some are integrated and some are stand-alone.

Very few systems, however, can gather data from ALL available sources, bring it back to a central location, and then analyze it to provide a comprehensive energy management and control capability. Our CEMS does so at a reasonable cost that’s less than the cost of many initial energy audits.

Initially, a small, inexpensive system can provide a high-level picture of where energy is being used, then it can be expanded over time into a detailed analytical/control system for every significant energy-consuming item of equipment in a facility – see the pyramid diagram below

Applied Energy would be happy to show you a demonstration of our system, along with an idea of the initial cost of the basic system, which is expandable over time to a very granular level, if required.
