It is usually impossible for two different Energy Consultants or Brokers to get energy pricing for the same Client at exactly the same time, because Suppliers will not permit it. The Suppliers expect the Consultant or Broker to provide a Letter of Exclusivity (LOE) before the Supplier will quote a price. A second Consultant or Broker cannot get a price until the original LOE expires.
In the situation below, however, we ran a pricing event concurrently with a Broker, and we proved (again) that The Energy Exchange℠ is “the fastest path to the lowest price.”ã
The Client owns three hotel properties in New Jersey. Their current contract was 9 cents/kWh. With their contracts close to expiration, the owners asked us to see what we could do.
It happened that one of the owners, who wasn’t convinced of the power of our process, had requested pricing from a Broker – under another legal name – for the same day. He landed what he thought was an unbeatable price – just under 8 cents.
Once our bidding started, we rapidly passed through 8.5 cents, 8 cents, and 7.5 cents, eventually reaching a final price just below 7 cents. The customers were very pleased with their savings of $187,500 per year.
That’s the advantage of working with a Licensed Energy Consultant, instead of a traditional broker. We know:
- WHEN to buy. We track energy market trends every day, and we advise you how and when to use the trends to your advantage.
- We know WHERE to buy. We know the strengths and weaknesses of every energy supplier in your area, and our proprietary auction process creates intense head-to-head competition among them.
- We know HOW to buy. We help you avoid the landmines in contract language, regulatory changes, tax exemptions, and billing errors.
You’ll see every available price and gain valuable insights into the key issues of energy procurement. All with minimal investment of your time.
